Read the first two chapters on me
Whether your children are small, grown, or somewhere in the middle, motherhood changes who we are.
Most of us feel it long before we find the words for it, and few of us have stopped to look at what it has done to our own emotions.
What I’m sending you explores that shift: how we drift away from what makes us tick, and how we end up parenting from a place we haven’t yet looked after.
Inside you’ll find
Finding Myself in Someone Else’s Script: the roles we step into as mothers, and the moment we wonder who wrote the lines we have been saying.
The Identity Leak: how who we are can slip away behind what we do, and where our feelings go when there is no time to feel them.

Meet the author
Identity wasn’t something I thought about when I became a mother. I was too busy becoming one. Years later, with my three children almost ready to leave home, I started wondering where the woman I used to be had gone, and why so much of her had been filed under “Deal with Later”.
Coaching helped me find my way back, first as a client and then as a coach. These days I’m an ICF Associate Certified Coach and Emotions Coaching Practitioner, with a background in communications and organisational psychology. I help mothers own who they are and decide what comes next.
I grew up in South Africa and now live in South East London. I write the way I coach, honestly, with humour, and with plenty of room to think aloud.

What others say
There were moments in the book that had me laughing out loud, and others where I sat with a lump in my throat as I recognised my own missteps and mistakes. I felt like this book was written for me.
Paola Cringle
We can all recall moments we wish we had handled differently. Reading her stories helped me forgive myself and recognise that these moments are what shape us, helping us grow and better support our children emotionally.
Becci Williamson
The authors reflections on managing her own emotions as a model for her children really resonated with me. The permission she gives her children, and herself, to process, to express, and to feel fully without rushing to fix or suppress feels so important.
